Department Council of Administration and
Mid-Winter Meeting: The Mid-Winter COA and General Meeting are scheduled
for February 10-12, 2012 at the Macon Marriott City Center, 248 Coliseum Drive,
Macon, GA. The room rates: $75.00 if reservations are made prior to January 29,
2012.
3. Department Registration Fee: There is a fifteen ($15.00)
dollar registration fee for all attendees (if paid in advance), twenty ($20.00)
dollars at registration for the Mid-Winter COA and Meeting. The banquet on
Saturday evening is thirty-five ($35.00) dollars with advance reservations, and
forty ($40.00) dollars at the registration desk.

District
Meetings:
The updated District Meeting schedule is published and is on the GAVFW website.
Post Commanders are reminded that in keeping with the National By-Laws, the
Commander, or Senior Vice Commander, or Junior Vice Commander MUST attend
the District meeting. Notification from the Department Headquarters is not a
requirement. District Commander must insure all Post are properly notified.
5. Post Activity Reports: Post Commanders are reminded that the ONLY
reports to be sent to the Department Headquarters, the Post Trustee Audit
Report. All other is to be sent to the individual Department Chairman.
Commanders are also reminded that there has been a change of reporting, the
Ladies Auxiliary now send their reports to the Auxiliary Chairpersons.
6. Makeup GLT: There will be a
makeup GLT on November 19, 2011 at Post 1187 in Winder. Contact the Adjutant or
Administrative Assistant if you are interested in the makeup for All State
credit. A fee of $15.00 will be collected and lunch will be provided.
7. General Order Information: To
be read in is entirely at a regular meeting and filed. It
has come to our attention while visiting Posts throughout the State, which some
Post Commanders are not reading the General Order from Department Headquarters
at their meetings. The information is for
all members and it is the responsibility of the Commander to insure that it is
relayed to the membership.
